Siné Institute

The Siné Institute is an upcoming non-profit organization, that will serve as a hub for the Canadian-Filipino community to collaborate in the arts, culture, and creative industries. By providing an inclusive space for various artistic endeavours, the institute will encourage an environment of unity and inspiration among its future members.

I was asked by the co-founder of Siné Institute to come up with a logo that would best represent the filipino community, without it being to overly Filipino.

I tried a couple different versions and landed upon the use of triangles to create a sun which pays homage to the Philippines flag. The gradient of the orange to yellow colour scheme symbolizing warmth and diversity. The triangles which look like sun rays extending out like welcoming arms, but also give off the effect of a spotlight. Overall it’s a visual that celebrates the power of community, collaboration and artistic energy.
